Activity Safety
Effective: September 29, 2026 · Last updated: September 29, 2026
Our activities are everyday things families have always done together: talking, playing, cooking, moving, making things. They are designed to be simple and safe, but you know your children and your home best. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.
Every Weekadoo activity is meant to be done with an adult present and in charge. If something doesn’t feel right for your child, your space or the day, change it or skip it. In an emergency, call 911.
Before you start
- Read the whole activity first and gather what you need.
- Think about each child’s age, size, abilities, health, allergies and mood today.
- Clear the space: furniture corners, slippery floors, stairs, cords and breakables.
Little ones (under 4)
- Keep coins, beads, buttons, marbles, small magnets, batteries, balloons and small toy parts out of reach.
- Avoid choking foods: whole grapes, nuts, popcorn, hard candy, and hot dogs or cherry tomatoes not cut lengthwise.
- Never leave a toddler alone near water, even a bucket or bathtub.
Food and cooking
- Check ingredient labels for allergens every time, even for foods you’ve bought before.
- An adult handles stoves, ovens, hot liquids and sharp knives; older kids help under close watch.
- Wash hands, keep raw meat and eggs apart from ready-to-eat food, and cook food through.
Moving and playing
- Use soft, open spaces for active games and keep games calm near furniture and stairs.
- Wear the right gear for bikes, scooters and skates (helmets included).
- Stop if anyone is hurt, too tired or upset.
Outdoors and outings
- Check the weather; use sun protection, water and layers; head inside in lightning or extreme heat or cold.
- Stay alert near streets, parking lots and water; agree on a meeting point in crowded places.
- Local events are run by others: confirm times, prices and age suitability with the organizer, and follow their rules.
Crafts, tools and experiments
- Use child-safe scissors, washable non-toxic materials and good ventilation.
- Adults use hot glue, sharp tools, ladders, cleaning products and anything electrical.
- Supervise experiments with liquids, heat or food coloring, and protect surfaces.
Screens
When a plan includes a movie or a video game, it’s for doing together. Check the rating and content yourself; ratings are set by others.
