Shake it out, then freeze
One wild minute, then a calm one

Wiggle, stomp and shake every body part for one wild minute, then flop down together and feel your heartbeats slow. A great reset for big feelings.
You’ll need
- Nothing, just some floor space
How to do it together
- 1
Stand up together and shake your hands, then arms, then legs, then everything.
- 2
Stomp and wiggle as wildly as you can for one minute.
- 3
Freeze like a statue.
- 4
Flop down on the floor side by side and put a hand on your heart.
- 5
Feel it slow down, and talk about how your body feels now.
Make it easier
Do shorter rounds with lots of freezes.
Make it harder
Let your child lead the moves and the freezes.
Why it’s worth it
Moving shakes out big feelings, and lying down together brings everyone back to calm. It teaches a reset kids can use anywhere.
