Act out the feeling word
A guessing game that grows feelings words

Take turns acting out a feeling with your face and body while the other guesses the word. Every round grows your child's feelings vocabulary, no lecture needed.
You’ll need
- A few feeling words on slips of paper (frustrated, proud, nervous, excited)
How to do it together
- 1
Write 8 feeling words on slips: frustrated, proud, nervous, disappointed, excited, surprised, bored, calm.
- 2
Pick a slip and act it out with your face and body, no words.
- 3
Your child guesses. Then swap.
- 4
After each guess, ask: when did you last feel like that?
- 5
End with the happiest one, together.
Make it easier
Start with the big four: happy, sad, angry, scared.
Make it harder
Add trickier feelings like jealous, embarrassed or relieved.
Why it’s worth it
Kids who can name a feeling handle it better. Learning the words through a silly game makes them stick.
