Fruit kebab bar
Build the most colorful fruit kebab

Set out cut fruit and skewers and let everyone build a colorful kebab for dessert. The more colors, the better.
You’ll need
- Fruit cut into chunks (melon, strawberries, banana, grapes cut in quarters)
- Skewers, or straws for little ones
- Plates
How to do it together
- 1
Wash and cut the fruit together. Kids can do bananas and soft fruit with a butter knife.
- 2
Put each fruit in its own bowl.
- 3
Everyone builds a kebab with as many colors as they can.
- 4
Name your kebabs and take a photo before eating.
- 5
Count the colors: who made a rainbow?
Safety: Use blunt skewers or straws for young kids, cut grapes and round fruit into small pieces for under 4s, and check for allergies.
Make it easier
For 3- and 4-year-olds, use a straw instead of a skewer and cut grapes into quarters.
Make it harder
Older kids can make a pattern (red, green, yellow, repeat) or design a kebab for each family member.
Why it’s worth it
Kids eat what they build. Colorful fruit plus a little creativity makes healthy food feel like a treat.
