Snack tier list
Rank snacks, defend every pick

Rank a list of snacks from top tier to bottom tier out loud, defending every pick. Great in the car and guaranteed to spark friendly outrage.
You’ll need
- A list of 8 snacks everyone knows
- Paper (optional, for the tiers)
How to do it together
- 1
Name 8 snacks everyone knows: chips, popcorn, apples, cookies, pretzels, grapes, granola bars, cheese.
- 2
Make four tiers: S (best), A, B and C.
- 3
Take turns placing one snack and defending the choice.
- 4
Argue it out. Anyone can challenge a placement.
- 5
Tie-breakers: best road-trip snack, best after-practice snack.
Make it easier
Use three tiers: love it, fine, no thanks.
Make it harder
Rank something else: movies, school lunches, family vacations.
Why it’s worth it
Preteens love having opinions taken seriously. Debating snacks is low-stakes practice for arguing well.
