Rip it and stick it
Loud, messy, toddler-approved art

Hand your toddler old magazines or colored paper to tear into pieces, then glue the scraps onto one big sheet while you tear alongside them. The ripping is the whole point.
You’ll need
- Old magazines or scrap paper
- A glue stick
- A big sheet of paper
How to do it together
- 1
Spread a big sheet of paper on the table.
- 2
Show your toddler how to tear paper. It's loud and they'll love it.
- 3
Tear together into small and big pieces.
- 4
Help them glue the scraps onto the big sheet.
- 5
Talk about the colors you see, and hang the masterpiece on the fridge.
Safety: Watch that little ones don't put paper scraps in their mouth.
Make it easier
Pre-tear a few strips to get started.
Make it harder
Sort the scraps by color before gluing.
Why it’s worth it
Tearing builds little hand muscles, and making a mess together is a gift for toddlers.
